SINHARAJA RAIN FOREST

It is the first world heritage forest in sri lanka.
the forest at its lowed is 270 metres above the
sea level .many streams stort from the high
gigh ground of the sinharaja and fall in to bigger
rivers.there is a small water fall called DUHUVILI
ELLA.perhaps it is named after the dust like
spray of the water fall.the rain fall in the area
is high throughout the year.it makes the water
ways rush and gush adding beauty to the land.
the attraction of sinharaja to the visiter is
mainly the vegetation.the birds and the animals
are there but it is the trees,the plants and
flowers.that attract the nature lover.for thousa
nds of years the fores has mothered.these trees,,,
creepers and elephant,the deer and sambhur.it
has given protection to the birds,the bees and
butterflies. all these years it has remained just
as nature created it.
visitorsare welcome as long as they go in,leave nothing behind and take nathing except the
wonderful memaries of sinharaja.

Environment is our surrounding,
No one can live without it,
very few of us realise it,
In our socieaty.
Rain is given by trees,
Oxygen is given by trees,
No one wants to pay gratitude to it.
many disasters happen because of this
Everyone will have to face tragicincidents
now we must protect our surroundins
to live happly.

the temple of the tooth

the temple of the tooth is in kandy.it is the most sacred place of worship for the buddhists of sri lanka.it houses the tooth relic of the buddha.the temple of the tooth is called the “dalada maligawa”in sinhala.

the temple of the tooth is very beautiful. with the picturesque kandy lake in front of it.lots of tourists both local and foreigens,visit the dalada maligawa.

buddists from all over the country after come to worship here.

the world famous annual Esala perahara starts from the dalada maligava.it is a beautiful festival held in July or August every year.
